NONPROFIT FUND TYPES

An endowed fund is a permanent fund that is established by a donor to help ensure the long-term sustainability of nonprofit organizations by providing a permanent source of support.  Endowed funds are pooled and invested to achieve long-term growth by balancing principal protection with distributions. Contributions to endowed funds may be eligible for Endow Iowa tax credits.

FEES

Nonprofit Funds give organizations the opportunity to build a stable funding stream. The Community Foundation’s fee for administering funds is based on the market value of the fund. Assessed quarterly, the current annual fees are for endowed and non-endowed funds. The Board of Directors periodically reviews fees and has the authority to make changes when appropriate.

INVESTMENT MANAGEMENT

We take seriously our role as stewards of your gifts to the community. Endowed funds are invested in a manner that preserves and enhances the value of the initial gifts while allowing for annual distributions. Globally diversified and managed with the appropriate oversight, our Endowment Pool is here to support the community forever.
