Climax Molybdenum Scholarship
Guidelines
The Fort Madison operations of Climax Molybdenum, a subsidiary of Freeport McMoRan, supports annual scholarships to High School graduating Seniors planning to continue their education at a College/University, Vocational or Trade School. Scholarship amounts can be up to $1,000, with priority consideration given to students entering STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) and/or mining related career paths including environmental sciences, technical degree programs such as diesel mechanics, truck driving, and trades (electrical/electrician, infrastructure based).
The scholarship award will be given to the recipient's college/ university, in their name, upon submission of proof of enrollment, to be used toward tuition and/or other direct expenses. The competitive award will be based on career goals, field of study, academic record, extracurricular activities, community involvement, essay composition and financial need.
Scholarship Deadline
The Climax Molybdenum Scholarship Fund Application opens on January 11, 2027. The Climax Molybdenum Scholarship Fund Application deadline is April 12, 2027.
