2026 GRANT WORKSHOP

The Keokuk Area Community Foundation (KACF) and North Lee Community Foundation (NLCF) held their first Grant Workshop of the year Wednesday afternoon at the Turnwater Reception Room in Fort Madison. More than 100 representatives from local nonprofit organizations, government entities, and school districts attended the event.
 

The purpose of the workshop was to provide local organizations with an overview of 2026 grant opportunities available through the Foundations, offer guidance on navigating the
online grant application system, and share practical tips for submitting strong, competitive grant proposals.
 

Grant opportunities through KACF and NLCF have significantly expanded following several major donations received over the past year. Beginning in 2026, the Foundations will
increase annual grant allocations from approximately $400,000 to an estimated $700,000– $800,000 across three grant cycles.
 

The 2026 grant opportunities include:

• • Hellman IMPACT Grant – Awards up to $100,000. Applications are open now through April 6, 2026.

• • Eichacker Lofton Grant Fund – Awards up to $10,000. Applications open April 28, 2026, and close June 29, 2026.

• • Kowzan Sandrock Grant Fund – Awards up to $10,000. Applications open August 3, 2026, and close October 5, 2026.

• The Foundations will host a second Grant Workshop in Keokuk in early June to further assist organizations interested in applying.
